Arco and its surroundings

A NOBLE PARK FOR THE CITY OF ARCO

The Archducal Park is a historic arboretum open to the public, paradigmatic of the history, climate, and natural vocation of the City of Arco.

Arco

The location of Arco, overlooking Lake Garda and just a few kilometers from the Dolomites, is extraordinary for enjoying nature, art, history, and culture.
The town boasts a charming historic center rich in historic gardens and monuments. It is home to the G. Segantini Civic Gallery, which hosts a fascinating collection of works by the Divisionist painter Giovanni Segantini (Arco, 1858 – Pontresina, 1899), along with important temporary exhibitions. Notable landmarks also include the Renaissance palaces of the Counts of Arco and the magnificent Collegiate Church.

The town is dominated by the Castle of Arco, perched above the olive groves and open daily from March to December, and on weekends in January and February. The surrounding landscape features terraced slopes cultivated with olive trees and a network of panoramic trails.
The tourist season runs from March to December and offers a wide range of events suitable for all audiences.

In the surrounding area, you can find many sites of great cultural interest: beautiful country churches with frescoes, castle ruins, and sites of industrial archaeology such as the Caproni Woods Quarries.
For those interested in outdoor sports and nature observation, there is the cycle and pedestrian path along the Sarca River Park, leading to the river’s mouth at Lake Garda. The area is also known for its many sport climbing crags and hiking and mountain biking trails, available year-round thanks to the mild climate.
